Now I am on version three of this site \u2014 it began as a commentary on found art and art experiences \u2014 shifted to document my experience as a care-giver that lasted through the passing of my partner. Now it focuses on my future life \u2014 that life that I am living following the great unravelling of 45 years, three of romance, and forty-two of marriage, the sale of our house and stepping off to a wholy new life. Many friends suggested I begin a blog or begin to engage with social media. The latter is not my forte, I am no digital native, so I fall back to something more comfortable. A blog\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n

So begins, \u201cWilliam and Wilson on the (W)road<\/a>\u201d \u2014 Steinbeck wrote \u201cTravels with Charlie\u201d then Philbrick (my high school classmate) recently completed \u201cTravels with George\u201d with Dora as his canine companion. I will invoke all four as my inspiration and hope that I can do them justice. My co-traveler is Wilson, a border collie mix and rescue. And I am William \u2013 a given name, never used. We are setting off in the \u201cSilver Schooner\u201d, a short wheelbase 2009 Sprinter conversion van. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally conceived as a site for art commentary on things that I found that interested me, it is now a site for the Culture of Care. My role has changed and I am now a primary care giver to one with the squeaky diminution of clarity. It appears to be a world out of time \u2014 while February, Christmas cannot come too soon.
