Now it focuses on my future life &#8212; that life that I am living following the great unravelling of 45 years \u2014 three of romance, and forty-two of marriage, the sale of our house and stepping off to a new life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So begins, &#8220;William and Wilson on The (W)Road&#8221; &#8212; Steinbeck wrote &#8220;Travels with Charlie&#8221; then Phillbrick (my high school classmate) wrote his &#8220;Travels with George&#8221;. They are inspiration, models perhaps, but not competitors. My companion is Wilson, a border collie mix and rescue. And I am William &#8211; a given name, never used.
