Now I am on version three of this site — it began as a commentary on found art and art experiences — shifted to document my experience as a care-giver that lasted through the passing of my partner. Now it focuses on my future life — the life that I am living following the great unravelling of 45 years — three of romance, forty-two of marriage, the sale of the house we shared, and, now, stepping off to a new life.
So begins, “William and Wilson on The (W)Road” — Steinbeck wrote “Travels with Charlie” then Phillbrick (my high school classmate) wrote “Travels with George”. They are inspiration, models perhaps, but not competitors. My companion is Wilson, a border collie mix and rescue. And I am William – a given name, never used. William and Wilson just seemed to fit.
